CTA Chest (systemic arterial supply)

CT IV contrast Preferred Chest OutpatientAcute inpatient Reviewed

US Prenatal US + postnatal CTA Chest No contrast

Watch-outs

Recurrent infection / hemoptysis

Definitive treatment is surgical resection or embolization of feeding vessel.

Pearls

  • Intralobar: usually left lower lobe; arterial supply from descending thoracic aorta.
  • Extralobar: own pleura, often diaphragmatic; can be infradiaphragmatic.
  • Distinguish from CCAM / CPAM (no systemic vessel).
