Tubal dilation on imaging (hydrosalpinx)
Recommended: Transvaginal Pelvic Ultrasound is the preferred imaging study for tubal dilation on imaging (hydrosalpinx). Fluid-filled fallopian tube, often from prior PID.

Transvaginal Pelvic Ultrasound
Fluid-filled fallopian tube, often from prior PID. Important pre-IVF — reduces implantation; consider salpingectomy.

Watch-outs
Pre-IVF hydrosalpinx
Halves IVF success — most centers offer salpingectomy or proximal tubal occlusion before IVF cycle.
Pearls
- Tubular cystic structure with incomplete septations (waist sign).
- 'Beads on a string' sign: thickened endosalpingeal folds.
- Differential: ovarian cyst (simple sphere) vs hydrosalpinx (tubular shape).
